Disney Princess

I read the book of Disney's Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and Snow White. It just makes me sick to here that my daughter loves to hear these stories over and over.

In my critique of these books, it may seem that I am putting a high standard on children's books, but I found such well written children's books that I want to share them with you.

Granted the tales of Cinderella and Snow White are classics and any critique of them would only bring up old memories of a little girl waiting for prince charming who never will really come. The simple writings are fine and organized well from the version that I found.

My problem was Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid. Walt Disney did not even take the time to organize its paragraphs in a logical format. The beast seems like a jerk, and I feel now real compassion for his situation. In the coming days, I am going to show you a version of the Beauty and the Beast that makes you feel compassion for the beast. The writing engages you and the reader can follow the flow of the story.

Join me as I share with you children books that I find in the Library and read to my daughter.
